History and Reputation

Most importantly, yes, Beaver Seeds is an overall legit and trustworthy seed bank. However, they are still building their presence in growers’ circles and internet forums. But the reviews Beaver Seeds has received across the internet so far are mostly positive, and this seed bank has earned itself a many satisfied repeat customers.

Company History

Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Beaver Seeds was originally founded in 2007, by experienced cannabis seed purveyors with the intention to focus on selling the most popular high-quality strains. In autumn 2020, Beaver Seeds underwent a complete rebranding. The rebranding changes included an all-new seed-selection with completely new genetics and packaging.

Online Reputation

When browsing strain product pages, you’ll notice comments from past buyers praising the seed bank for on-time delivery, high germination rates, and healthy plant development. Outside of BeaverSeed.com, the reviews show a more diverse range of opinions about the seed bank. Beaver Seeds currently has 3.4 stars on Trustpilot, which is actually a decent rating compared to other seed banks.

If you look at the reviews, you’ll find a mix of loyal customers that believe Beaver Seeds are the best in the industry and unhappy customers who are upset they didn’t receive their order or their seeds didn’t meet expectations.

Overall, Beaver Seeds has a solid online reputation with instances of problems. But as the company has grown, they have clearly improved logistics, selection, quality of seeds, and customer service department to gain the trust of countless cannabis enthusiasts.

Beaver Seeds Selection, Quality, and Pricing

Beaver Seeds has a relatively small product selection compared to some of the larger seed banks online– with just over 300 feminized and north of 150 autoflowering seeds. The inventory of regular seeds is smaller, with fewer than 40 available at the time of this review.

Over the last couple of years, Beaver Seeds has dramatically increased its inventory from a few dozen to hundreds of strains. They have focused on adding more feminized and autoflowering varieties, which makes sense as these are the most in-demand cannabis seeds.

You’ll find an assortment of iconic strains like Acapulco Gold, Gelato, Afghan Kush, and Gorilla Glue. Beaver Seeds also carries under-the-radar varieties like Candy Jack, Diamond Girl, Hill Billy Jean, and Dwarf King if you want to try something new. If you are looking for high CBD varieties, Beaver Seeds also carries just over a dozen hemp strains with various ranges of low THC content.

Unlike most seed banks, we can’t find any strains that are out of stock. This likely means if Beaver Seeds doesn’t have seeds available, they won’t put them online, which is a breath of fresh air for anyone who has searched and found a strain only to be informed on the product page that they are unavailable.

Seed Quality

Beaver Seeds has done well in building a seed inventory with consistent quality. Despite occasional reports of dud seeds, Beaver Seeds’ overall germination rates are high. Each strain listing on BeaverSeed.com includes at least one customer review, with buyers frequently remarking on better than expected crop sizes.

Pricing

Beaver Seed’s pricing is unusually consistent and straightforward. Here’s what you can expect to pay with every feminized and autoflower strain:

  • 5 Seed Pack – $65 ($13 per seed)
  • 10 Seed Pack – $120 ($12 per seed)
  • 25 Seed Pack – $240 ($9.60 per seed)

Here are the prices for regular seeds:

  • 5 Seed Pack – $40 ($8 per seed)
  • 10 Seed Pack – $70 ($7 per seed)
  • 25 Seed Pack – $140 ($5.60 per seed)

As you can see, Beaver Seeds incentivizes customers to purchase more seeds at a time.

Deals and Discounts

Beaver Seeds’ prices are reasonable, in the same range as other comparable seed banks and sometimes a little lower. Beaver Seeds keeps its prices low by purchasing seeds in bulk and then passing its savings on to buyers. Beaver Seeds does not currently offer sale-priced seeds or any coupon code discounts, though its website invites buyers to check back for more promotions in the future.

Free Shipping and Bonus Seeds

Beaver Seeds does offer a few longstanding standard discounts. All orders over $200 qualify for free shipping, every 5-pack of seeds includes a bonus 6th seed, and 10 extra bonus seeds are included with any order over $420. Unlike some other seed banks with free seed promos, Beaver Seeds lets buyers select their own bonus seeds. However, to do so, you will need to call Beaver Seeds’ customer service team when placing your order. Canadian seed orders arrive inside this company’s signature beaver-shaped packaging. US orders are shipped in plain packaging.

Shipping Information

Shipments from Beaver Seeds are usually reliable as they are backed with insurance and a tracking number and sent in a discreet package with random items such as T-shirts or toys. Unfortunately, shipping cannabis seeds worldwide comes at a price; you can expect to add $20-$40 to all your Beaver Seeds orders to cover shipping.

Discreet Shipping From Canada and the US

Beaver Seeds ships seeds anywhere in the world from its home base in British Columbia, Canada. United States orders are shipped from Beaver Seeds’ California office, eliminating concerns of seeds being seized at customs. LIke most reputable seed banks, Beaver Seeds always ships in discreet packaging with no mention of the company name or package contents. For added discretion, Beaver Seeds has been known to stash seeds inside of random items like t-shirts or toys before shipping. As Beaver Seeds’ goal is to ship seed orders within 24 hours after payment is received, this seed bank keeps all of its seed strains in stock at all times.

Since Canada’s mail system is particularly efficient, orders from Beaver Seeds typically reach their destinations quickly. Packages sent from Canada are less likely to arouse suspicion from customs agents at international borders than, for example, packages from Amsterdam or the UK, making delay or seizure less likely. Canadian customers usually receive their seeds in 2-5 days. Depending on the location, seeds bound for anywhere else in the world typically arrive in between 1-3 weeks.

Delivery Guarantee

Despite the relatively low risk of discreet shipping from Canada, there is always an element of risk involved in shipping cannabis seeds internationally. And, of course, packages of any sort are subject to getting lost or stolen in transit. For buyers concerned about these shipping risks, or who prefer access to tracking information, Beaver Seeds offers a guaranteed delivery option. This delivery guarantee includes tracked shipping and a promise that seeds that fail to reach their destination will be reshipped.

Customer Service

While BeaverSeed.com states its seeds are “guaranteed to have high germination rates” this seed bank does not currently offer a formal germination guarantee or have a specified return policy. Its customer support team is available 24/7, via live chat, email, or telephone to field questions or handle special circumstances. New buyers may feel more comfortable if they reach out to customer service before placing an order to ensure they know what to expect, should something go awry.

Payment Methods

At checkout you’ll be given multiple different payment options, with cash by mail as its preferred payment method for the sake of discretion. To encourage buyers to use cash, Beaver Seeds throws in a few bonus seeds for all customers who do. Coins and personal checks are not accepted.

Other accepted Beaver Seeds payment methods include Visa, Mastercard, and Bitcoin. Canadian buyers also have the option to pay via EMT Interac. Buyers who prefer paying by credit card should know that credit card payments are subject to an extra 10% surcharge to cover bank processing fees. It’s worth noting that despite being a Canadian company, Beaver Seeds lists all prices on its site in US dollars.

Website and Growing Resources

Online Seed Catalog

BeaverSeed.com is a nice-looking website with its seed catalog neatly organized to browse either by seed type (feminized, autoflowering, regular, high CBD) or by best-selling strains. You can also use the newly added search filters and organize each category by popularity, average rating, and latest. We’d like to see more advanced search features but since all seeds are the same price in each major category, it’s far from a deal breaker.

A nice feature of Beaver Seeds’ online catalog is the detailed description included in each strain listing. These descriptions contain information about the type of high and physical/ mental/emotional effects to expect, potential for medical efficacy, THC:CBD ratios, indica:sativa ratios, typical crop yield, flowering time, and additional notes on strain-specific growing information. You also get a photo of what you can expect mature buds to look like with around 90% of the site’s inventory.

Germination Guide and Cannabis Blog

Beyond its online seed catalog, BeaverSeed.com includes comprehensive information about the differences between feminized, regular, and autoflowering seeds to help newer growers decide which type of seeds will best suit their needs and abilities.

The information is presented in a blog that you can find in the footer menu under ‘Growing Marijuana Seeds.’ You’ll find dozens of articles on essential cultivation, consumption, and purchasing pointers, along with entertaining articles like “Tips on How to Get Really High on Weed.”

One of the most comprehensive guides available from Beaver Seeds is the step by step germination instructions. The information was likely made available to ensure customers follow best practices when germinating Beaver Seeds, as seeds failing to sprout are among the top complaints against seed banks on online cultivation forums.

Beaver Seeds Review: Conclusion

Beaver Seeds has made significant improvements over the past couple of years. Their inventory has increased exponentially, and they do an incredible job keeping seeds in stock. Beaver Seeds’ strains are generally good quality, reasonably priced, and BeaverSeed.com is easy to navigate. However, a few drawbacks, such as the lack of a germination guarantee policy and expensive shipping costs, keep us from ranking Beaver Seeds as one of the best seed banks.

Stay away from Beaver Seeds! They are a rip off! Seeds don’t germinate, are the wrong strains and customer service is non existent. This scam is run by Brendon Kennedy of Newport Coast California. Brendon is the former owner of UPS420.com which was sued in federal court back in 2019 for copyright infringement and fraud. (UPS v Kennedy).
